f is for formidable female

In her childhood days at the Court of Elizabeth I, Lady Anne Clifford witnessed the Queen's reign as proof of the power of independent women.  When she was denied her inheritance on the basis of her gender she chose to fight rather than passively accept sexist injustice.  Nearly four decades were to pass before this diminutive, crop-haired, pipe-smoking baroness won control of her estates, whereupon she set about restoring the mighty castles and churches of Eden.
